This was an important meeting! Here are the highlights:

  • We have an upcoming open house on 23 April, from 8:30 to 10:30. It’s the last of the year, so come on out, and bring your friends!
  • Discussion was held about future club events, including open houses, academic and community outreach events, and club-only events.
  • Elections were held. Here are the officers for next year:
    • President: Andy Hill
    • Vice President: Nick Becker
    • Secretary: Rachel Kreher
    • Chief Executive Officer of Open Houses: Paul Friz (with help from others as available)
    • Webmaster: Ronnie LaCombe
    • PR: Mikey Hermann

Be sure to stay up-to-date on all of Stargazers’ upcoming events!

  • The next Stargazers meeting will be after Spring Break, on Monday, 12 March. The meeting will be at 7:30 in MG 1099, and a club event will follow.
  • Our next open house is on Thursday, 15 March, from 8:00 to 10:00 pm. That day, we will also have the solar scope set up on the mall for passersby to have a look (it is safe, after all). The solar scope will hopefully be set up from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Stargazers has a slot in the next Science on Saturday, which will be on the 24th of March. Stay tuned for more info.
  • Officer nominations will be held at our meeting on Monday, 26 March.

Highlights from the meeting include:

  • Open house on Tuesday, 21 February. Watch weather updates! Chalking for the open house will be on Friday at 2:00 pm. If you plan to help out, meet Ronnie at the couches in Stonehenge in Magruder at that time.
  • Stargazers will begin movie nights on the Mondays on which we DON’T have meetings. Stay tuned or check out the minutes for more info.
  • A Stargazers club event will be held on Monday, 12 March. We will have a short meeting, then head out afterward.
