As we will not be returning to Truman for classes, our organization will be suspending all official open house and solar scope events this semester. At this time, we maintain that the safety of the University and Kirksville community is our number one priority, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
If you would like to be updated with our newsletters and projects as we work from our homes, please follow our social media accounts as listed on the orange, right-hand bar. In addition, please join our email list using the Google Form on our “Contact Information” tab.
Thank you for your patience. We look forward to working with you and the University to make this time both as safe and productive for all of us. Be safe, and we’ll see you all next fall!!!
Open Houses at the observatory are the responsibility of Stargazers. We welcome anyone and everyone at these events. Hope to see you there!
In addition to Open Houses, we also will be hosting Solar Scope Days. For these events, we will be providing you with an opportunity to use our solar equipment!
Note: In the case of inclement weather, the alternative date is the following day at the same time.
The observatory is located at the University farm. To get there, take S Franklin St. until you reach LaHarpe St. Then turn right, go all the way up the hill, and cross the highway onto the gravel path. Park in the small lot to the left at the end of the driveway. You should see some red lights down another gravel path; this is where the observatory is located. Walk down this path and you’ll be there!
Order a t-shirt here! We’ll be tie-dying them soon after they come in!
